Weggis, also known as the St. Tropez of Central Switzerland, has 12 kilometres of lakefront, two thirds of which is a publicly accessible lakeside promenade. Thanks to the southern flank of the Rigi, the climate is mild and figs, sweet chestnuts, grapes and palm trees thrive here. The completely car-free, attractive district of ‘Rigi-Kaltbad’ at 1,400 metres above sea level is also part of this. Weggis is home to around 4,500 inhabitants.
